Terms of Service

Effective: [LAUNCH DATE] · Last updated: 18 April 2026

Draft — pre-launch.These terms will be finalised with UK counsel before public launch. They're published now for transparency about the structure we're working to.

1. Who these terms are with

Rank My Builder Ltd (company number [TBC]), registered in England and Wales. If you have questions about these terms, email hello@rankmybuilder.co.uk.

2. Using the Service

You must be 18 or over. You're responsible for your account, everything posted from it, and keeping your login credentials safe. You agree not to: post false information, pretend to be someone else, game the review system, attempt to bypass our bidding system to avoid lead fees, harass other users, or break any UK law.

3. For customers

  • Posting a job is free. We'll limit the number of quotes you receive to keep things manageable (currently 5 per job).
  • You're under no obligation to accept any quote. You can decline all of them.
  • The contract for the work itself is between you and the fitter, not with Rank My Builder. We don't carry out the work and we don't warrant its quality.
  • Reviews you leave must be honest and about work you actually had carried out.

4. For tradespeople (fitters)

  • You must be able to lawfully carry out the trades you list, including holding the required credentials (Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT, or equivalent) and appropriate insurance.
  • You pay per lead using bid credits. Credits are topped up via Stripe. Credits are non-refundable once spent on a lead, except where we determine the lead was invalid under our Refund Policy.
  • You may not contact a customer off-platform to avoid paying a lead fee. Doing so is a material breach and may result in account suspension.
  • You may not solicit reviews in exchange for discounts or other incentives.

5. Credits and payments

Lead prices are shown before you bid. Our subscription tiers and credit-pack pricing are published at rankmybuilder.co.uk/pricing. Prices include VAT where applicable. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your dashboard.

6. Our liability

We provide the platform “as is”. We don't warrant the quality of any work carried out by fitters who use the platform, and we aren't party to the contract between you and the fitter. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under UK law.

7. Ending your account

You can close your account from your dashboard any time. We can suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, violate the law, or pose a risk to other users. We'll tell you why unless we're prevented from doing so by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes: 14 days' notice by email. Small changes: the “last updated” date moves.

9. Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
